Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the marinade

In a bowl, whisk together:

  • soy sauce
  • olive oil
  • lemon juice
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • brown sugar
  • garlic
  • seasonings

Mix until well combined.


2. Marinate the steak

  1. Place steaks in a zip-top bag or shallow dish.
  2. Pour marinade over the steaks.
  3. Seal and refrigerate.

Marinating Time

  • Minimum: 2 hours
  • Best flavor: overnight

3. Cook the steak

Remove steaks from marinade and let sit at room temperature for 20 minutes before cooking.

Cook on:

  • grill
  • cast iron skillet
  • barbecue

until desired doneness.


Steak Cooking Guide

  • Rare: 125°F (52°C)
  • Medium Rare: 135°F (57°C)
  • Medium: 145°F (63°C)
  • Well Done: 160°F (71°C)

Let steaks rest 5 minutes before serving.


Tips

  • Ribeye, sirloin, and New York strip work best.
  • Don’t marinate longer than 24 hours because lemon juice can affect texture.
  • Add fresh rosemary or thyme for extra flavor.
