Ingredients
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the marinade
In a bowl, whisk together:
- soy sauce
- olive oil
- lemon juice
- Worcestershire sauce
- brown sugar
- garlic
- seasonings
Mix until well combined.
2. Marinate the steak
- Place steaks in a zip-top bag or shallow dish.
- Pour marinade over the steaks.
- Seal and refrigerate.
Marinating Time
- Minimum: 2 hours
- Best flavor: overnight
3. Cook the steak
Remove steaks from marinade and let sit at room temperature for 20 minutes before cooking.
Cook on:
- grill
- cast iron skillet
- barbecue
until desired doneness.
Steak Cooking Guide
- Rare: 125°F (52°C)
- Medium Rare: 135°F (57°C)
- Medium: 145°F (63°C)
- Well Done: 160°F (71°C)
Let steaks rest 5 minutes before serving.
Tips
- Ribeye, sirloin, and New York strip work best.
- Don’t marinate longer than 24 hours because lemon juice can affect texture.
- Add fresh rosemary or thyme for extra flavor.
