Strawberry Poke Cake ππ°β¨
Soft strawberry cake soaked with sweet filling and topped with fluffy whipped topping and fresh strawberries β this chilled dessert is light, creamy, and impossible to resist!
Ingredients
Cake
- 1 box strawberry cake mix
- Ingredients listed on the cake mix box (usually eggs, oil, and water)
Filling
- 1 package (3 oz) strawberry gelatin (Jell-O)
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup cold water
Topping
- 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed
- 1/2 cup strawberry glaze or strawberry puree (optional)
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
Instructions
- Prepare and bake the strawberry cake according to package instructions in a 9Γ13-inch baking dish.
- Let the cake cool for about 10β15 minutes.
- Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the cake.
- In a bowl, dissolve strawberry gelatin in boiling water.
- Stir in cold water.
- Slowly pour the gelatin mixture evenly over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.
- Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours until chilled.
- Spread whipped topping evenly over the cake.
- Drizzle strawberry glaze or puree on top if desired.
- Garnish with sliced fresh strawberries.
- Chill again before serving for the best texture and flavor.
