Ingredients

Cake

  • 1 box strawberry cake mix

Filling

  • 1 package (3 oz) strawberry gelatin (Jell-O)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water

Topping

  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed
  • 1/2 cup strawberry glaze or strawberry puree (optional)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare and bake the strawberry cake according to package instructions in a 9Γ—13-inch baking dish.
  2. Let the cake cool for about 10–15 minutes.
  3. Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the cake.
  4. In a bowl, dissolve strawberry gelatin in boiling water.
  5. Stir in cold water.
  6. Slowly pour the gelatin mixture evenly over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.
  7. Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours until chilled.
  8. Spread whipped topping evenly over the cake.
  9. Drizzle strawberry glaze or puree on top if desired.
  10. Garnish with sliced fresh strawberries.
  11. Chill again before serving for the best texture and flavor.
