Mutton Karahi

π§Ύ Ingredients
- 700 g mutton (bone-in)
- 5 tbsp cooking oil
- 1Β½ cups water
- 450 g tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 3β4 green chilies
- 1Β½ tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
- Β½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1Β½ tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp crushed black pepper
- 1Β½ tsp salt (or to taste)
- 3 tbsp yogurt
- Β½ tsp garam masala
πΏ For Garnish
- 1 tbsp ginger (julienne)
- 2 tbsp fresh coriander
- 2 green chilies (slit)
π©βπ³ Instructions
π₯ Step 1: Fry the mutton
- Heat oil in a karahi or deep pan.
- Add mutton and fry 6β8 minutes until lightly browned.
π² Step 2: Cook until tender
- Add ginger garlic paste and cook for 1 minute.
- Add water, cover, and cook 35β40 minutes until tender.
π Step 3: Add spices & tomatoes
- Add tomatoes, salt, chili powders, turmeric, coriander, and black pepper.
- Cook until tomatoes soften and gravy thickens.
π₯£ Step 4: Finish the karahi
- Add yogurt and cook 5 minutes until oil separates.
- Add garam masala and green chilies.
- Cook on high heat 2β3 minutes for final flavor.
πΏ Step 5: Garnish & serve
- Garnish with ginger julienne and fresh coriander.
- Serve hot with naan or rice π
