Ingredients

Beef & Vegetables

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (or sesame oil)

  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced

  • 1 cup snap peas

  • 1 medium carrot, julienned

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

Sauce

  • ¼ cup soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (slurry)

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Instructions

1. Prepare the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), rice vinegar, sesame oil, and the cornstarch slurry.
Set aside.

2. Cook the Beef

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan or wok over high heat.
Add the sliced beef and cook 3–4 minutes until browned.
Remove from the pan and set aside.

3. Stir Fry the Vegetables

Add the second tablespoon of oil.
Add garlic, ginger, bell pepper, snap peas, and carrot.
Stir fry on high heat for 3–4 minutes until crisp-tender.

4. Combine Everything

Return the cooked beef to the pan.
Pour the sauce over.
Cook 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and vegetables.

5. Serve

Serve immediately over rice, noodles, or on its own for a lighter meal.

Notes

  • You can replace beef with chicken or shrimp.

  • Add broccoli or mushrooms for extra vegetables.

  • Adjust sweetness by increasing or reducing honey.
