Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Cook the beef
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
- Add diced onion and garlic and cook for 2β3 minutes until softened.
- Drain excess grease if needed.
2. Prepare the mixture
Add to the skillet:
- uncooked rice
- beef broth
- cream of mushroom soup
- sour cream
- Worcestershire sauce
- Italian seasoning
- salt and pepper
Mix well until combined.
3. Bake
- Transfer mixture to a greased casserole dish.
- Cover tightly with foil.
- Bake for 40β45 minutes or until rice is tender.
4. Add the cheese
- Remove foil.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
- Return to oven uncovered for 5β10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
5. Serve
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.
Perfect with garlic bread or a simple salad.
Tips
- You can add mushrooms, bell peppers, or corn for extra flavor.
- Swap cheddar with mozzarella or Monterey Jack.
- Leftovers taste even better the next day.
