Ingredients
Donut Bars
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Maple Glaze
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 2β3 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
- Preheat oven to 180Β°C (350Β°F).
- Lightly grease a baking tray or line with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together:
- flour
- sugar
- baking powder
- salt
- In another bowl, mix:
- milk
- melted butter
- egg
- vanilla extract
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until combined. Do not overmix.
Step 2: Shape the Donut Bars
- Transfer dough onto a lightly floured surface.
- Roll dough to about 1/2 inch thickness.
- Cut into rectangular bars.
Step 3: Bake
- Place bars on prepared baking tray.
- Bake for 12β15 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Let cool slightly on a wire rack.
Maple Glaze
Step 4: Make the Glaze
- In a bowl, whisk together:
- powdered sugar
- maple syrup
- vanilla extract
- milk (add gradually)
- Mix until smooth and pourable.
Step 5: Glaze the Donuts
- Dip the tops of warm donut bars into the maple glaze.
- Place on a wire rack to let excess glaze drip off.
- Allow glaze to set for about 10β15 minutes.
Tips
- Add a pinch of cinnamon for extra warmth.
- Best served fresh and slightly warm.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
